Supporting older adults in Letchworth and surrounding villages
Welcome to the Howard Garden Social Centre!
Howard Garden Social Centre has been serving the older adults of Letchworth and the surrounding area since 1953. It was one of the first centres in the country to provide a hot meal service, which still continues today. We are a registered Charity and are run by a Board of Trustees.
Our key objective is to support older adults within the local community who may be suffering from loneliness, social isolation, or living with conditions such as dementia or other disabilities. We provide compassionate support tailored to the unique needs of our members.
We also offer a respite service for carers, giving them peace of mind and a chance to rest, knowing their loved ones are cared for in a safe and welcoming environment. Additionally, we welcome referrals from community doctors and social services to ensure we reach those who can benefit from our support the most.
At Howard Garden Social Centre, we believe that older adults have the same rights as everyone, and we are committed to enhancing their well-being through social, physical, and mental activities designed to create connections and enrich their lives.
